Kerry Astronomy Club will present “Star Shapes”, illustrating how our ancestors used to tell stories by imagining the shapes and patterns of the stars as the story characters in their stories. See how these stories can help us find our way around the sky today!
Talk will be followed by observation with telescopes – weather permitting. Suitable clothing and torch advised.

Directions to Gortbrack Farm: Turn off main Tralee / Castleisland Road at Ballyseedy Castle, go straight to the next T junction and turn right at Farmer’s Bridge, turn left at the bridge and follow on to top of the hill to Quill’s Cross. Turn left and follow for ½ mile. Farm is signposted.
Kerry County Museum

Kerry County Museum is the ideal starting point for tours of Kerry, bringing to life the story of Kerry from the earliest times to the present day. Priceless treasures are on display in the Museum, illustrating the rich heritage of the county. Visitors can travel back 600 years in the Geraldine Experience and see, hear and smell medieval Tralee. Visitors can also witness the award winning Antarctic exhibition and the new 'Spymaster' exhibition which tells the story of William Melville, a native of Sneem, Co Kerry who became MI5's first spymaster.
And those with a Samhlaíocht Programme Guide can do it all for free!

A mesmerising Talk by Kerry Poet Tommy Frank O’ Connor We marvel at the imaginations of children; at their ability to take something simple and create a magical world around it and, as we observe, we tend to regret the dormant state of our own imaginations – now discover its joys for your-self!
Tommy Frank O’Connor is a writer whose work is an excellent example of the power of imagination - suitable for creatives and ‘non-creatives’ of all ages.
